East Park Avenue is close to historic downtown Libertyville where
you can enjoy all the comforts of a small town within walking distance
yet, you are not far from Westfield Mall located in nearby Vernon
Hills which has many shops and is just a short drive away.
If you are looking for a taste of farm life look
to Lamb’s
Pet Farm located just down the road from us. Enjoy pee-wee golf,
petting zoo and great dining.
Libertyville offers fun for the seasons starting with Libertyville
Days including carnival rides and food booths from eateries from
around the area.
During the summer enjoy concerts out at the band shell located
in Butler Lake Park. The Fourth of July is spectacular with fireworks
shot off over Butler Lake. Take a picnic dinner, listen to the
music from the band shell and end the evening with a wonderful
firework show.
There is also a Farmer’s Market every Thursday, and Out-To-Lunch
in the park every Friday, then continuing in the fall there is
the Harvest Festival. There is Trick-or-Treating for the children
downtown on Halloween Day. Come winter enjoy a journey back in
time, with Dicken’s of a Holiday. The Christmas Tree lighting
ceremony the day after Thanksgiving puts you in the mood for the
Christmas Season. Downtown shops stay open late this night to help
put you in that Holiday spirit.
You don’t have to go downtown to Chicago you can enjoy the
night life right here only a few blocks away. All year round you
can find an enjoyable evening out at the town’s fine eateries.
One such eatery is Micky Finn’s which has it’s own
brewery right on the premises and weather permitting you may enjoy
your meal outdoors. There is also Firkin’s and Morgan’s
which are also great places to meet up with friends and enjoy a
brew or two.
If you do want to travel downtown to Chicago you can either take
the Metra or pick up the tollway right down the street from us.
After the New Year in February Mainstreet hosts The Winter Frolic
and in March there is a Winter Dance.
All this is within walking distance from our apartment complex
so there is no need to worry about looking for a parking space
downtown.
If you are looking for a good book, a quick walk
will take you to our Cook Memorial Library, there you can find
just that book you are looking for. Or perhaps you want to surf
the net you can do that too. When you are done finding your book
enjoy a stroll through the Rose Garden located in the heart of
town in Cook Park.
If you are in the mood for a movie, head to
The Liberty Theater. There are two screens for double the fun
and if coffee or a latte’ is
your thing we have two great places a short walk in town. There’s
Starbuck’s Coffee House and then there’s Caribou Coffee
conveniently located next to the Metra Train Station.
If you are into sports try out our Sports Complex located in Libertyville.
And if you enjoy the great out doors there is Independence Grove
where you can hike, bike, swim, walk, run, or just go there to
fish. However you want to spend your time in the sun, Independence
Grove has it covered.
There are a lot of activities to do and enjoy
in Libertyville, and it’s all just a short walk away.
